Terms of engagement
Last updated 22 August 2026. This is a plain-English summary of how we work together. When you become a client we give you a full letter of engagement covering your specific services; that letter, together with these terms, forms our agreement. These terms are provided in English only.
Who we are
ADR Finance Group Ltd is an accountancy and bookkeeping practice registered in Scotland, company number SC900013, at West Baldridge Farm, Dunfermline KY12 9NS.
What we do
We provide the services we agree with you — which may include bookkeeping, Self Assessment, VAT returns, payroll, year-end accounts and dealing with HMRC on your behalf. The exact services, and the fixed monthly fee for them, are set out in your engagement letter before we start.
Our fees
We work on a fixed monthly fee, agreed with you in advance. You hear the price before you decide, and it doesn’t change unless your needs change and we agree a new figure with you first. Fees are payable monthly. If work falls outside what we agreed, we’ll tell you and quote it before doing it — we never add charges you haven’t seen.
What we need from you
To do your work properly we rely on you to:
- give us complete and accurate records and information;
- get things to us in good time so we can meet HMRC and Companies House deadlines;
- tell us about anything that affects your tax or accounts; and
- review what we prepare before it’s filed — we’ll always show you first.
You remain legally responsible for your own tax affairs. Our job is to prepare and file correctly on the basis of what you give us; we can’t be responsible for the consequences of information that is incomplete or wrong.
Deadlines
We track your filing dates and aim to file on time, provided we have what we need from you in reasonable time. Where records reach us too late to meet a deadline, we’ll tell you straight away and do our best to limit any penalty.
Professional standards and money laundering
We act with professional care and keep your affairs confidential. As an accountancy business we are required by law to verify the identity of our clients and to keep anti-money-laundering records; by engaging us you agree to provide the identification we ask for. Our professional body and anti-money-laundering supervisor are stated in your engagement letter.
Confidentiality and your data
We keep your information confidential and only share it where you ask us to, or where the law requires. How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.
Our responsibility to you
We’ll do our work with reasonable skill and care. We can’t guarantee a particular tax outcome, because that depends on your circumstances and on HMRC. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it (for example, for fraud). Otherwise, our liability for the services is limited to the fees you have paid us for the work concerned. The full basis of our liability is set out in your engagement letter.
Ending the engagement
Either of us can end the engagement by giving reasonable notice in writing. If you move to another accountant, we’ll cooperate with a normal, professional handover of your records. Any fees for work done up to that point remain payable.
Complaints
If something isn’t right, please tell us — email info@adrfinancegroup.co.uk or call 07401 649706 and we’ll do our best to put it right quickly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
